Recently, major mainstream media such as the Fiji Sun, the Fiji Times, the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation and the Fiji Village News Network, as well as the official website of the Fiji government, continued to widely cover the handover ceremony of the China-aided Suva Multi-purpose Stadium Maintenance Project held in Suva, the capital of Fiji, on January 12.

Multiple reports have pointed out that the all-round upgrade of the outdoor swimming pool and hockey center has provided sufficient guarantee for Fiji to host major international events, and will provide strong support for Fiji to win the qualification of hosting the 2031 Pacific Games. Prime Minister Rabuka expressed gratitude for China's assistance, stressing that the two sports facilities are of great significance to promoting the development of youth and sports in Fiji and enhancing the friendly cooperative relations between the two countries. He looked forward to further deepening cooperation with China in areas such as sports, education, science and technology.
