Angolan President Lorenzo Cut Ribbon for Project Undertaken by Zhongding International

      On the afternoon of January 12th local time, the China-Aided Angola Vocational Skills Training Center project, constructed by Zhongding International, held its opening ceremony in Huambo City, Huambo Province, central Angola.        Xinhua News Agency at Luanda reported on January 12 (Reporter Lv Chengcheng): The China-aided Angolan Vocational Skills Training Center project held its opening ceremony in Huambo City, Huambo Province, central Angola, on 12. Angolan President Lorenzo attended the ceremony and cut the ribbon for the project.

      The Minister of Public Administration, Employment and Social Security of Angola, Theresa Dias, delivered a speech at the ceremony, stating that the opening of the Vocational Skills Training Center will help promote industrial development in Angola, fill the gap in high-end technology in Angola, and create conditions for the development of manufacturing, mining, agriculture, and communication industries in Angola.

       Chen Feng, Chargée d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Angola, said in her speech that the Chinese government has always attached great importance to capacity building in Africa. Last year, China proposed three measures at the China Africa Leaders' Dialogue, including the China Africa Talent Development Cooperation Plan, to support the modernization of Africa. The completion of the Angola Vocational Skills Training Center project will help more Angolan youth achieve their ideals and provide stronger talent support for Angola's independent and sustainable development.

      Pedro Felipe, State Secretary for Employment and Social Security of Angola, said in an interview with reporters that China has become Angola's most important partner, and the two sides have also engaged in effective and reliable cooperation in vocational training and employment promotion. At present, Angola has established cooperation projects with many Chinese enterprises to provide internship and training opportunities for Angolan youth. The Angola Vocational Skills Training Center project is constructed by Zhongding International Engineering Co., Ltd. and designed and managed by China Aviation Planning and Design Research Institute. The project has a construction area of over 6500 square meters and covers an area of over 20000 square meters. It has 30 laboratories and 6 workshops, including robots, mechanical processing, computers, measurement, and automotive repair. The project started on June 24, 2021 and was completed on October 31, 2023. Both China and Angola signed the handover certificate for the project on the 11th of this month.
