Ma Guoliang, Counselor of Chinese Embassy in Fiji Inspected the China-aided Fiji Project Site

On Aug. 30, Ma Guoliang, Counselor of the Economic & Commercial Counselor's Office of the Chinese Embassy in Fiji, inspected and guided the China-aided Maintenance Project of Suva Multifunctional Stadium in Fiji. China Railway First Bureau, China Power Construction and China Civil Engineering and other Chinese Enterprises in Fiji were also present for carrying out exchanges.

Ma Guoliang pointed out that the project team should always bear in mind the political nature of foreign aid implementation and fully understand the extreme importance of the security protection of foreign aid projects and front-line personnel, especially in the year of the 20^th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and put security work in a more prominent position. We must adhere to the bottom line of thinking, balance development and security, consider both the immediate and the long-term, and establish a security system for foreign aid projects with risk identification, plan management, daily precaution, and emergency response. We must firmly prevent and defuse various security risks related to the COVID-19 pandemic and social security, and effectively ensure the life, health, and safety of frontline foreign aid personnel. The project leader said that, with a high sense of political responsibility and active work initiative, the project team will continue to firmly grasp the safety production of the project and the safety protection of front-line personnel, and strive to create a good external environment for the success of the 20^th National Congress.

Ma Guoliang and his party visited the construction site of the swimming pool and the hockey field, and affirmed the current work progress of the project team. So far, the project has been progressing smoothly and most of the demolition work has been completed, especially the construction of all the light pole foundations has been completed before the rainy season.
